(with all the answers of course):
Q: Some agencies in UK have ATOL License/deposit guaranteed for 12 months/you’re financially protected by ABTA, which basically helps provide payment protection for the customer. Does Slovenia have something similar to ATOL/ABTA?
A: Slovenia is part of European Union and follows the same standards and regulations.
In order to get/keep licence for a tourist agency we need to provide (amongst many other things) guarantee (a contract with an insurance company) for the “payment of compensation for failure to fulfil the contractual obligations or fulfilling them unsatisfactorily” for organisers of trips in amount no less than 41.730€. Licence (and guarantees) is re-checked every year.
We are licensed at Chamber of Economy of Slovenia – Tourism and Hospitality Chamber.
Stag.si is brand of our company ZIDANA MARELA d.o.o. – licence number 1135 for tourist Agent and 1134 for tourist Organiser.
So in short: we do have a License/Guarantee that protects you for (at least) 41.730€ (around £36.305,10).
Q: What about your payment conditions?
A: We prefer SWIFT transfers but also accept payment by all the major credit and debit cards. We use PayPal to process card payments securely online. You can read more at www.paypal.com. We never come into contact with your card at anytime and we will never know any details of the card(s) you use to pay us with. We are obligated by Slovenian law to conduct our business in Euro. When making SWIFT transfer (or payment trough paypal) please make sure that you choose EUR. Please mind that possible bank fees are not part of invoice and should be paid extra.A deposit of (at least) 25% of the total cost of the booking is required to confirm your booking. Payment of the rest of the total cost must be made 72 hours before arriving OR in cash upon arrival.
Q: Do we need shoes for rafting?
A: No, you will get: neoprene shoes, helmet, life jackets & neoprene suit.
Q: Can we book other trips later on?
A: Of course! However it is good to confirm major activities (rafting, skiing …) as soon as possible.
Q: How far is the white water rafting from the town centre/hotel? Is it an all day event?
A: t’s about 2+ hours drive to Soca valley from Ljubljana, but it is worth it. It is one of the most beautiful places in Slovenia and on the way there/back you can take alternative route and go over the highest mountain pass in this part of Europe or even decide to go (shortly) trough Italy. Just rafting is half day event but a lot of groups decide for rafting + canyoning (excellent experience and only 2km apart) and for some groups we organise BBQ party on the way back… so we can completely customize it for you.
