ATM Machines & Credit cards
ATMs – called bančni avtomat(i) – are throughout Slovenia & Ljubljana. If you have a card linked to either the Visa/Electron/Plus or the MasterCard/Maestro/Cirrus network and a PIN (personal identification number), then you can withdraw euros almost on every corner. Visa, MasterCard/Eurocard and American Express credit cards are widely accepted at hotels, restaurants, shops, bars ….

But even if you can´t remember those few words – don´t wory! It is true what is written on wikipedia site: “English is taught as the first foreign language throughout the country from the age of nine. Younger generations know English well enough to communicate without difficulties…”

TIPPING IN SLOVENIA
Gratuity in Slovenia is a no-brainer.
We don’t tip by percentage, we just round up. If you bill is 8,40 EUR you can just give 9€ or if you are especially satisfied 10€ instead. And you don’t have to wonder whether the tip is already on your bill—it’s not.

Beer is round €2-3 EUR
Cinema in Ljubljana is €5 EUR
Pizza is from €5-9 EUR
Cola (0.25 l) is €1-2 EUR
TAXI is aprx. €0.73 EUR / km
Gas is around €1 EUR per litre
Cup of coffe is €1-2 EUR
